Wag Tales: Pearl & Chrissy

I would describe my personality as:
P: Oh, it’s a perfect blend of “CEO of the household, and ‘needy tomboy’. I am calm, resilient and always jovial, not to mention the oldest and wisest of my mom’s pack and the only one that chooses to stay out of trouble.
C: I would define myself as a mastermind, adventurous, sooo very goofy, stubborn, independent, affectionate, playful, protective, curious, alert and extremely energetic. I love all the special one-on-one attention I can get.
My Favorite Vacation Spot:
P: Absolutely my fav in the whole wide world is my parent’s bed, specifically curled up next to my dad – and getting belly rubs.
C: Back in the beginning of December when I was only about 5 months old, I was rescued from the trenches of a homeless camp. When I was found, I had very little fur (just horrible skin with demodex) I was covered with parasites, open sores and swelling. I was surviving on garbage for my meals and people were throwing rocks at me because nobody wanted to touch me. They took me to Stockton Animal Shelter and their veterinary team treated me for all my illnesses-then my foster mom Jill brought me home with her. Right now this is my favorite vacation spot – but now that I am totally healthy, vetted and spayed, I am hoping to get adopted and one day have my own favorite vacation spot!
What I love when I get to go along:
P: I love to ride shotgun! I am up for going ANYWHERE. As a sign of appreciation to taking me along, I always put my paw on my mama’s hand as we go on our adventure.
C: When I get to go BYE-BYE with my foster mom, I throw my head out the window to smell the fresh air! I have perfect car manners, by the way!
My favorite park or place to play:
P: My new favorite place to play is in my back yard. Have you seen it? I mean really. We moved to the Delta and now I have a flock of geese that I must herd and look over all day long! I will sit there for hours like Sam the Sheepdog, It’s a full-time job for me but I’m very steadfast in my duties.
C: I agree with P on the backyard. It’s pretty amazing. I play almost all day with my friends chasing each other, the geese, barking at sea lions, fisherman and any other critters that dare breach our yard. I am like Ralph the Wolf Dog. I am very proud of myself and tend to prance around the lawn after a good chase off. I am convinced I save everyone’s life at least 10 times a day.
My guilty pleasure:
P: Even though I am close to perfect, I have a very bad guilty pleasures. I LOVE MUD! I love to roll in it, repeatedly. With every rain I can’t help but find the nearest puddle and submerge my whole body like a submarine. My mom must take me to Groomers A LOT. I turn my beautiful white coat into Oscar the Grouch every chance I get.
C: I love counter surfing for anything that looks new to the area, or I think I may want to eat, or I should play with. I’m very nosey and I don’t miss a thing!!!
My naughtiest deed:
P: Oh, this happens quite often. Not only do I love mud, but I love any kind of other animals’ poop to roll in. I love bird poop, cat poop, cow, horse – you name it! Again, I must be bathed a lot.
C: I’ve discovered that I love to swim in the Delta. Accompanied with my love for chasing geese, this leads me to swim to a neighbor’s house to chase the geese off their deck for them! I’m very dedicated to my job of keeping everyone safe from the birds.
The most wonderful treat:
P: Chrissy and I both agree our favorite treat is their sticks or frozen bone marrows.
C: Pearl is correct but I also love any ball or toy. I will entertain myself for hours with a ball. I’m hilarious watching as I chase bugs, pouncing on the ground, snapping in the air. I am my own comedy show.
Where I go to get pampered:
P: If my mom doesn’t have to bathe me at home, I love to be pampered at Above and Beyond Pet grooming. We took my foster sister Chrissy there a few times while she was getting Oatmeal baths for her skin.
Where I was born:
P: Unfortunately, I was born into the Korean meat trade. My mom paid for my sister and I to come to the US and we eventually ended up here in Stockton. I liked my new family so much that I demanded all the love and affection away from my sister. My mom realized I was an attention hog and rehomed my sister to family members so she could have her own family to be adored by.
C: I don’t know my family roots. I was found and fostered from a homeless camp. If you adopt me I am ready to come spoil you with all my love and goofiness! I will be your biggest protector and best friend. You can take me anywhere! I am the perfect medium size at 40 lbs. l am now almost a year old and I want a family of my own. I love all people and other dogs once I know they want to be my friend. Until then, Pearl and I will continue to play Ralph the Wolf and Sam the Sheepdog. Good night, Ralph. See you tomorrow, Sam.
