Cali Cute and Cuddly

Q: What’s your full name?
A: Cali Callahan
Q: Tell us about yourself.
A: My dad describes me as “the cartoon dog.” I know he means that as a compliment, referring to my constant state of joy, either running with my giant ears flapping in the breeze or my trademark “full body wag.” I even wag my tail in my sleep!
Q: What’s your favorite vacation spot?
A: I am on vacation 365 days a year. My vacation home is this 175-acre park that people call University of the Pacific. And because I am a very generous pup, I share my park with 4,000 of my closest friends though for some reason they are not always available to play with me 24/7! I’ve asked my parents to work on that.
Q: And when you get to go along?
A: I love going for walks on campus and running into some of my many friends. They always seem to feel better once they get to pet me and tell me how cute I am!
Q: What’s your guilty pleasure?
A: Well, it’s not a guilty pleasure, since I never feel any guilt about anything. But I certainly enjoy the food that my parents put out for me. We have a wonderful game where they keep trying to push all sorts of delicacies farther and farther from me on the kitchen island. It’s a great game that always ends with me eating and my parents screaming at the top of their lungs with joy.
Q: Are you ever a naughty pup?
A: I never do anything naughty, but some might misinterpret when I take Mom’s freshly cleaned clothes and decorate the backyard with them.
Q: What’s your canine obsession?
A: Balls. Tennis balls. Rubber balls. Plastic balls. Doggie balls. Any kind of ball. I love to play fetch. I can play for hours. And it’s even better when I make people work to get the ball from my mouth.
Q: What’s your favorite treat?
A: There are so many, but I still remember that delicious Thanksgiving apple pie that my parents so kindly left out for me on the kitchen table. It was delicious, and they seemed surprised that I could eat the whole pie.
Q: Where do you go to get pampered?
A: My favorite thing is first thing in the morning when I get up, I find my dad at his desk and he gives me a ten-minute ear rub and back rub. It’s so good it almost makes me want to get up two and a half hours earlier, when he gets up. Almost, but not quite.
Q: What else would you like everyone to know?
A: That I am the best dog ever. I know this because my parents tell me every day.
Q: Where were you born?
A: In San Francisco, but my parents brought me home when I was just a little puppy.
Q: Who are your human parents?
A: Jean and Chris Callahan
