Kids Shining Brightly: Emma Means

By  0 Comments

Baking with her Noni is something Emma Means has always loved. When she received new bakeware for Christmas, she had an idea to have a bake sale to raise money for a non-profit. Loving animals, especially her German Shepherd Kaia, Emma decided to donate the money to the Lodi Police K-9 Dogs.

With support from her family, Emma and Noni began baking. Her mom promoted the bake sale on Facebook, and as the word began to spread, by end of day she had already raised $350 on Venmo. With signs directing the way and tables filled with Emma’s baked goods, along with delectable donations from family and friends, many shoppers, including a Lodi police officer, came to support her. By end of day, Emma raised a total of $1,750.

The following week, with check in hand, she was greeted at the police station by the chief of police, the head of the K-9s, several officers and, of course, the K-9 unit. They made Emma an honorary member of the Lodi Police K-9 team.
