Meet the Marvelous Miss Mabel!

By  0 Comments

Q: What is your full name?
A: Mabel Sass

Q: How would you describe your personality?
A: I am blingy, confident, high-maintenance, prissy, yappy, etc. I’m also a sweet, friendly, playful and a “go-with-the-flow” kind of cat.

Q: What is your favorite vacation?
A: I haven’t really had a vacation before. You can just consider me a house kitty. I love sleeping around the house and especially playing fetch with my owners.

Q: Where do you like to roam?
A: I love to be in my backyard. There are so many new scents to discover, but when the sprinklers come on you will see me speeding back inside because I’m terrified of water.

Q: What is your guilty pleasure:
A: Like any typical cat, I scratch furniture. What can I say? I just really enjoy leaving my mark!

Q: Tell us your naughtiest deed:
A: When I was sick and living in a crate in the garage, I snuck out of it and hid under the car. Thank goodness they found me.

Q: What is your current obsession?
A: HAIRTIES! I love taking my mom’s hair ties and playing fetch with them. Yes, you’ve got that right. I can play fetch! I’ll just bring you the hair tie or ball and will be ready to play.

Q: What is your favorite, most wonderful treat:
A: I love turkey! It’s so delicious and I can’t wait for Thanksgiving!! Oh, and tuna!

Q: What makes you feel most pampered?
A: I just need to lay around and look cute until somebody comes up and will give me endless pets. It feels SO good.

Q: What else would you like everyone to know?
A: I have a big sister named Kiki, who is a brown tabby cat. She acts like she’s the owner of the house and honestly kind of scares me. When I feel super playful, I’ll try to pick a fight with her. She always ends up nearly killing me, but I keep coming back for more.

Q: Tell us your origin story!
A: In October of 2025, I was found by my owner’s mom in the parking lot at Davis Elementary School. I weighed less than a pound, was covered with ringworm, had an eye infection and was barely four weeks old. She took me into the Stockton Animal Shelter, but there was no room for me so back to Lodi I went. My owner and her family wanted to foster me but became “foster failures” and I started living with them in January 2026. It was long road to recovery with regular visits to the shelter, but my family was up for the challenge and let me tell you I won the lottery with them.

Q: Who is your human parent and where do you live?
A: Leah Sass is my mom and I live in Lodi.
