Lindsey Coxe and Sam Migliori were just kids when they met swimming on the same team for the Lincoln 1 & 5 Lightnings in Stockton. The couple’s friendship grew over the years while hanging out with friends on hot summer nights, although they went to rival high schools; she graduated from Saint Mary’s High School and he graduated from Lincoln High School.

In 2017, the pair started dating. Fast forward to August 2, 2024, and Sam got down on one knee! “Sam proposed on the second day of our trip to Portugal,” Lindsey said. “He planned a photographer to come and get some photos of us and proposed during one of the pictures. It was everything you could ask for in a proposal.”

It was Sam’s first trip overseas, but he pulled off the surprise without a hitch. “Sam was very nervous hanging onto the ring during his first international flight, but he hid it well! It made the whole trip that much more special,” she smiled.

The two had a special time thoughtfully planning their November 1, 2025, dream wedding. But first, Lindsey had to find a dress. “We bought the dress at A&BÉ Bridal Shop in Sacramento,” Lindsey said. “It was the very first dress I tried on. The shop did an incredible job making sure I found the perfect dress.” The ethereal dress, Aster by Truvelle, has a chic boho vibe and features painted tulle with a satin sweetheart bodice, detachable sleeves and a long train.

Sam’s mother, Carolyn Weilburg, planned the rehearsal dinner, which was held the night before the wedding. It truly set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Sam’s brother, Shayne, and sister, Summer, were in the bridal party, which felt really special for the couple.

The couple chose Durst Winery & Estate for the venue. Their ceremony began at 5:00 p.m. sharp in the sunlit garden, which created an enchanting golden hour backdrop. Their adorable dog, Winston, was their distinguished ring bearer and sported his own tuxedo. Lindsey’s brothers, Chase and Ryan, walked down the aisle too, and helped make sure that the ring bearer had his special moment.

Durst provided a perfect all-in-one venue for guests to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden before witnessing the couple’s vows. Lindsey’s grandfather, Chris Eley, officiated the ceremony and the bride walked down the aisle to a medley of The Sound of Music songs. “Having Lindsey’s grandpa, Chris, officiate was the most special part,” Sam said. “Chris has played a pivotal role in Lindsey’s life, and he and Lindsey’s grandmother, Tola, have always been such a great model for a happy healthy and supportive marriage.” Lindsey’s bestie, Anna Taylor, served as maid of honor. In a unique twist, Lindsey had officiated at Anna’s wedding! Sam’s best friend Christian Rios served as best man. Lindsey carried a bouquet of white peonies and Playa Blanca roses, layered with toffee and cappuccino roses, ranunculus and lisianthus, all softened by Queen Anne’s lace and mixed greenery.

Then it was inside for a sit-down dinner by candlelight. Lindsey tapped her aunt Holly Katz’ expert advice for the tablescapes to create a cozy, intimate and elegant look. Dionne Brooks of Brooks Blooms Lodi created lush floral centerpieces in antique-looking brass-footed bowls with flowers that matched the bride’s bouquet. Lindsey’s grandfather also pitched in to make handmade paper with flower petals that was used for the name cards at each place setting. It was a fun project for him that left an indelible impression.

Papapavlo’s catered the wedding; the menu featured appetizers, Caesar salad, pasta, sauteed vegetables, roast Angus sirloin with a wild mushroom merlot demi-glace, chicken marsala, pita bread and hummus. The four-tiered bride’s cake was an almond confection with buttercream frosting.

Dinner was followed by dancing and fun at the photo booth! Lindsey’s mom, Kim Hanker, suggested the photo booth for the reception, and Lindsey and Sam said it was one of their favorite parts of the wedding reception.

Lindsey is a graduate of the University of Oregon, where she earned a BA with a major in public relations and a minor in Spanish. She is serving as a teacher and Sam is an electrician. While their ties to Stockton remain strong, they are making their home in Sacramento. Lindsey loves Pilates, skiing and traveling. Sam is a talented bass player and likes to cook and watching the Sacramento Kings. The newlyweds are planning to honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
