LeBlanc and Associates Dentistry for Children: Focused on Children’s Health and Happiness

By  0 Comments

From the gummy grins of infants to the toothy smirks of teenagers, our children’s smiles light up our lives. To keep those smiles shining bright, one of the best gifts you can give your child is a regular checkup with a well-established pediatric dentist such as those at LeBlanc and Associates Dentistry for Children. “We’re a pediatric dental office and everything we do revolves around children and service to children,” said Dr. Michael LeBlanc, founder of LeBlanc and Associates. “We have eight board-certified pediatric dentists in the practice able to treat your child at four, and soon-to-be five, locations throughout Johnson County and Wyandotte County.” They specialize in treating children ranging in age from infants to 18-year-olds.

Child-Centric Care
When you visit a LeBlanc and Associates office, it’s clear that the space was designed with children in mind. “Right when you walk into our office, we have bright colors, video games and TVs, and our front office staff is there to greet everyone with a smile,” said Dr. LeBlanc, and quieter private rooms are available upon request. You and your child will continue to find smiling staff at every step of your visit and at the end, “We hand out balloons and prizes to every child and offer soft-serve ice cream,” Dr. LeBlanc added. “The positive reinforcement, the rewards and constant words of encouragement stick out in a child’s memory.” Dr. LeBlanc, his associates and their supporting staff cultivate a fun environment that helps set children at ease, regardless of age or special needs, to make visits to the dentist fun. “The best thing that warms my heart is when parents say, ‘My kids keep asking when they get to go to the dentist again,’” he continued.

In addition to regularly scheduled visits, LeBlanc and Associates has a doctor on call 24/7 for pediatric dental emergencies. “If it’s an emergency, we will definitely see the child, regardless of the time of day. That’s why we always have a board-certified pediatric dentist on call and available after business hours and on the weekend,” Dr. LeBlanc affirmed.

Highly Trained, Professional, Compassionate Team
LeBlanc and Associates takes pride in their team, and everyone, from the front office to the dental hygienists and assistants to the pediatric dentists, works to leave you and your child with a smile. Dr. LeBlanc said, “We have a front-office staff that just brightens up the room. They’re very patient and people oriented.” All employees are given training in the specifics of their job and how best to interact with children to help them feel comfortable. “There are a million ways you can greet a patient. But we want our staff to ask the children, ‘How was school that day? What did you dress as for Halloween? Where was your family trip?’ and similar questions. We want to connect with them.” Dr. LeBlanc continued, “And then every patient in the chair gets a compliment before they leave. Whether it’s their shoes, their hair or an accomplishment at school, we’re always complimenting them on something, so they feel great about themselves when they leave.”

Continuing the theme of excellence in treating children, each of the eight board-certified pediatric dentists completed not only dental school, but a residency as well. “I did my residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital, and any other board-certified pediatric dentist has done that extra two years of residency to be able to see children. Those two years include experience in basic check-ups to more intense work and sedation. We also treat a lot of special needs children,” Dr. LeBlanc shared. These dentists excel at their jobs and it shows every time a child leaves the office with a smile on their face.

Investing in the Community, Giving Back
LeBlanc and Associates is active in the KC-metro community. From handing out balloons and toothbrushes at local fairs and city events to donating free dental cleanings to the underserved, LeBlanc and Associates believes in giving back. Some of their community involvement includes sponsored events with the KC Mom Collective and the Lionsgate community, plus donations to KVC Holiday Heroes, One Warm Coat, Team Smile, Ronald McDonald House and the breast cancer walk, not to mention donations made throughout the year to local schools. Finally, February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, during which Dr. LeBlanc and his team visit local preschools and elementary schools to talk about the importance of dental healthcare.

LeBlanc and Associates currently has four offices conveniently located throughout Johnson and Wyandotte counties, with a fifth coming soon.
