Kathryn and Ryan Thrasher

Tied the Knot: September 21, 2019

Starting out as friends who share history was the foundation of strength for Kathryn and Ryan Thrasher. 

“Ryan and I went to high school together,” Kathryn shares. “Our sophomore year we had every class together and became really good friends. We started dating when we were seniors.”

Kathryn completed a general agriculture degree from the University of Missouri. She is currently a full-time substitute teacher while she obtains her teaching certification to teach middle school history. Her hobbies include reading, baking and helping Ryan on the farm.

Ryan works on the family farm, tending to the cattle and helping with the row crop operation. He’s also a seed dealer for Burrus Seed. He enjoys working on his project trucks, going boating in the summertime and fishing.

On New Year’s Eve, ten minutes before midnight, when all of their close friends were present, Ryan was prepared for his proposal. “He knew I wanted photos and videos of the proposal, and we have them for our memories!” Kathryn laughs.

The blissful couple tied the knot September 21, 2019, with six bridesmaids and six groomsmen attending the couple and a host of family and friends present. “It was truly special that we were able to have it in his family barn,” Kathryn reveals. “Ryan knew that I’ve always wanted a barn wedding. After we got engaged and started talking about the wedding, the first thing he said to me was, ‘We’re having it in that barn.’ It took a lot of work but that made it even more special than it already was; it was fun to be involved with the whole process, from the cleaning and fixing to the decorating. It made it so much more meaningful and was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.”
