Ashley Dufrene and Michael Ugarte

Ashley Dufrene is from Orlando, Florida, and attended the University of Florida; she currently works at Barry University. Ashley describes herself as traditional, outgoing and creative.

Michael Ugarte hails from Miami, and his alma mater is Barry University, where he also works. Michael is known to be a traditional gentleman, with an outgoing and energetic side.

Three and a half years ago, Ashley and Michael met on Match.com, and it’s clear that the process worked! The couple set up their first date at the Cheesecake Factory and the rest is history. Their typical date night is to go out for dinner and a movie, usually Mexican food, or they are both happy just staying home and watching Netflix.

“We took a road trip in December and went to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, to enjoy the holiday décor of Biltmore,” Ashley remembers. “Michael created a photo album of our past travels and on a special page, he asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ At that point he got down on one knee and asked the question again! Of course, I said ‘Yes!’”

Ashley and Michael are joyously looking forward to many years of wedded bliss—and hopefully a memorable return trip to the Biltmore Estate!
