Adriane Ritchie and Jay Stephenson
A deep friendship lasting 22 years led to a special wedding ceremony for Adriane Ritchie and Jay Stephenson on a sun-kissed beach one gentle tropical June day.
Adriane grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas; she lived in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, for many years and returned to Overland Park, Kansas, where she established Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa and Adriane Advanced Skincare, through which she empowers and builds self-esteem for clients. Adriane’s passions and hobbies include philanthropy, supporting small businesses, traveling and hanging out with the couple’s two 13-year-old daughters and their kitties.
Jay Stephenson was born in Germany, where his father was stationed during the Vietnam conflict. His family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he was raised. He attended K-State and Wichita State University, where he played baseball for the Wichita State Shockers, the College Baseball World Champions. He received his degree in economics, which led him to a career specializing in biosecurity and safety. His hobbies include watching sports, hanging out with Norburt, his dog, and being a girl dad.
Adriane and Jay met 22 years ago in a mutual friend circle and have remained close friends throughout the years. Each has a 13-year-old daughter; the girls have birthdays one month apart and are very close friends. Jay has a 27-year-old daughter and 2 grandsons, 4 and 11.
Jay proposed to Adriane on a private beach in Islamorada, Florida, the village of islands in the Florida Keys. The setting, under a sky of thick dense stars, with the sound of silence and gentle waves, was perfect.
The blissful couple tied the knot on June 2, 2022, in a private elopement ceremony on the beach where Jay proposed. The bridal party included only Adriane and Jay, their children and grandsons. Then, on June 18, 2022, the couple held an elegant reception for close friends and family at the Grand Street Event Space on the Country Club Plaza.
Adriane and Jay escaped for their honeymoon to the remote island of Grenada in the West Indies, enjoying its 85° weather, white sand, turquoise waters, rainforest, waterfalls, five-star accommodations and once-in-a-lifetime excursions.
