Kelsey Crystal, 38, grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and graduated from KU with a BA degree. She works as a program and content manager for a conference series. “I am passionate about helping women discover their Godly worth and have healthy relationships,” Kelsey shares. “I’m a blessed mom of four now, a dog mom to two, and we can’t forget the snake and blue-tongue skink that also cohabit with us!”

Matt Crystal, 38, grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, attending Blue Valley Northwest. He is currently Vice President of Crystal Trenching. “I enjoy the outdoors and hunt every chance I get,” Matt relates. “I’m a dad to identical twin boys, Michael and Matthew, our oldest son, Deran, and I’m enjoying my newest role as a #girldad to Cruz. Our family lives in Overland Park, and we’re building a house in Wellsville, Kansas.”

“We met on Bumble dating app,” Kelsey notes. “We also quickly learned we went to the same gym and our three youngest had played together in the kids’ room. One of my favorite memories was when I walked into the kids’ room at the gym and was pleasantly surprised to find the boys hilariously entertaining our youngest with puppets!”

Matt, knowing Kelsey’s love of the outdoors, took advantage of a private moment. “He proposed at one of my favorite parks, while we were walking on one of my favorite walking trails,” she smiles.
The blissful couple tied the knot April 19, 2024, on a beautiful day at Serendipity Farm and Vine, Stilwell, Kansas. Kelsey’s first cousin, Steph, served as Matron of Honor, and Matt’s groomsmen were Taylor and Dave, his long-time best friends.

“Our wedding is unique because we have the blessing of blending our family,” Kelsey notes. “Our unity ceremony was a family wish jar. We had each of our kids write down a wish for our family on a piece of paper. Each kid put theirs in the jar and Matt and I did one together. We will read them on our first weekend together as a family!

“We also had a giant word search for people to do called a sip and search. I included words that reflected memories we shared as a family, such as ‘lake,’ ‘oceans of fun,’ ‘the zoo,’ and others, and words that reflected each child’s interests and personalities, such as ‘unicorn,’ ‘Taki,’ ‘Pokémon,’ ‘spaghetti,’ for example. We also had an audio guest book (it was an old dial-up phone). Matt and I left the greeting and people left us a message after the beep,” she laughs. “I thought this would be a great thing to listen to through the years, both entertaining and heartwarming!”

Kelsey and Matt honeymooned at Sandals® Regency la Toc in Castries, St. Lucia, an adults-only resort. “We wanted the beach and the mountains. St Lucia offered both and also a rainforest,” Kelsey shares. “It was beautiful and so fun to explore the island and the culture of the people who live there.”
