KC Newborn Care: Postpartum Professionals Supporting the Whole Family
“W ho is providing your family’s postpartum care?” This is the question Samantha Moore, owner of Kansas City Newborn Care, wants everyone to ask families welcoming newborns into their lives. Samantha is passionate about providing care to pregnant and postpartum women and the families of newborns. “I want to normalize postpartum and newborn care in Kansas City because you and your family deserve to be taken care of just as much as your newborn does,” she said. Samantha’s team of postpartum and newborn professionals provide daytime or overnight services to families across the metro area.
Affordable, Flexible Postpartum Care
A new baby is a big adjustment for any family, no matter how experienced. Extra support from a trusted caregiver can make a huge difference. Kansas City Newborn Care’s professionals provide “unbiased support, as well as postpartum skills and educational information,” she said. When you reach out to Kansas City Newborn Care, Samantha will discuss your needs and expectations with you to determine what support is best for your family. “The most popular schedule is three nights and one or two days per week,” she shared. “We charge $40 an hour with a five-hour minimum during the day and a 10-hour minimum at night.”
After agreeing to a schedule with a client, she matches your needs and personality to compassionate postpartum professionals to provide care for your whole family. “We all have different needs, thoughts and opinions and, at the end of the day, our clients want what’s best for their babies. My goal is to place professionals that I feel are competent, capable and safe in the home,” Samantha said. Depending on the schedule, more than one professional may be assigned to your family.
If you have twins or triplets, Kansas City Newborn Care is here for you too. “Our doulas and nurses are fully trained in caring for multiples including feeding, diapering and keeping them on schedule. We do add $10 per multiple, so triplets are $60 an hour.”
What is Postpartum Care?
“For our postpartum support, we focus on the newborn’s first three to six months,” Samantha said. What happens during that period is different for every family. “We take cues from the family based on their priorities. If they have no idea what they want to do, we help them create a schedule. If we walk in and they know exactly what they want to do, we’re happy to follow that as well.”
Most parents find what they need is more sleep. “Our most popular service is overnight care. A professional cares for your newborn while you get as much sleep as possible.” Kansas City Newborn Care’s professionals are experienced with all feeding styles be it nursing, pumping, formula or a mix. “During daytime sessions, we’ll make sure baby is settled and then make sure that everything is calm for the family’s day ahead. We may clean your pump parts, pick up around the living room, do a bit of laundry, prepare a healthy snack or cut veggies for dinner,” Samantha said. In summary, your professional’s priority is your baby and they’re happy to help around the house to support the family.
Northland Family Expo March 8, 2025
“I run the Northland Kansas City Moms Facebook group, which is comprised of 10,000 women,” Samantha shared. “Moms in the Northland feel kind of forgotten because a lot happens down south.” This includes the location of businesses and services for moms and families. “With the Expo, we can spotlight different businesses that are family centered and in our backyard.” The first annual Northland Family Expo will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at The Co-op of Shoal Creek. “The first half of the day will be like a baby fair with different vendor tables, then the second half of the event is going to be a conference style in which we focus on the fourth trimester and postpartum education,” Samantha explained. The Expo is open to everyone.
