Inspired Closets: “Inspired Days Start in Inspired Closets.™”

One of the best ways to improve your home is to add custom organization solutions to your closet, workspace, laundry room, garage or any location you spend time in. If you have an idea and need help implementing it, Christine Fee, from Inspired Closets, can turn your dreams into reality.

Inspired Closets is woman-owned and veteran-owned by Christine Fee and her husband, Jim. They launched the company in November 2018 as the Kansas City dealership for The Stow Company, which has manufactured custom home organization solutions for 35 years. “Inspired Closets is the first brand in the history of the industry built from the ground up, entirely on customer research data,” Christine explained. “In 2016, The Stow Company, our manufacturer, hired an independent research company to interview closet buyers to discover what they liked and didn’t like about their closet-buying experience. It’s something nobody else has done!”

Inspired Closets was born out of that targeted research. Inspired Closets Kansas City was one of the first dealerships to open, and now there are 52 locations across the country. “Our mission is to turn disorganized, stressful spaces into organized, inspired ones. We solve everyday organization problems, big and small. The solutions are inspired by you, designed and built by us,” said Fee.

Not Just Closets
“The most popular closet design is a walk-in closet, but we also work on all areas of the home, providing custom-designed organization solutions that include not only closets, but pantries, home offices, laundry rooms, Murphy beds, entertainment systems and garages,” Christine continued. “We’ve built a reputation as a leader in custom closet and garage organization, and our high quality product and service is backed by one of the best warranties in the Kansas City market. We’re also proud of the fact that our product is made in the USA.”

Each new project has a four-step process: a complimentary in-home consultation, design, preparation and installation. “From consultation through to installation, we’re with you every step of the way because it’s not just about giving you a new space, it’s about giving you a space you’re going to love for a very long time. During the consultation, we ask questions to envision exactly what the customer wants to achieve within their space. We use state-of-the-art design software to bring their vision to life life, which enables them to see their finished space and make changes before we consider the design complete,” she continued. “It’s a fun and easy process. We offer advice on how to prepare for installation and once your design is finalized, our certified technicians build your design to your satisfaction.”

A Lively Space
Sarah Martin is one of many satisfied Inspired Closets clients who recently worked with Christine to build her ideal closet, which is functional, organized and incredibly lovely. Sarah initially called Christine because she’s spending more time at home now compared to pre-pandemic and wanted a special retreat, a getaway from her home office just a few feet away. “I have to admit I was inspired by closets of some of my favorite Real Housewives. When I saw Christine’s work, I was excited to find someone in Kansas City who could create a Real Housewives closet, but still fit my space and budget,” she smiled. “We took an extra bedroom and transformed it into a boutique closet. I love fashion and spent time during COVID learning the history of my favorite designers. My handbags were actually in China cabinets in our living room or spread out in closets around the house before building this closet. Now they are all in one place, easy to find, and fun to see, along with some amazing fashion pieces from my great-grandmother. I wanted it to feel like a boutique but still be functional with maximum capacity, and Christine’s team was able to do that.”

Customer Driven
“I love that it’s different from the closet in our bedroom suite, which serves another purpose. I wanted to see everything and included glass doors, shelves and special lighting. I was also able to select the colors, hardware and style of the material. While the colors and design elements complement the rest of my home, it’s a surprise when you open the door and turn on the lights, which is what I wanted,” she exclaimed.

Inspired Closets’ business has grown in all areas of the home, as customers also desiring to have their garages reimagined or a guest room turned into an office; in one project, she added a Murphy bed to accommodate the new space. Other creative projects include a new drop zone entryway for the entire family, a laundry room that is functional yet beautiful and a new entertainment center for relaxation at home.

“We love helping customers design beautiful, functional spaces that fit their lifestyles. Our team is trained to put the customer first and to take the stress out of their project,” Christine confirmed. “Our mission is to calm the chaos of everyday life. Like it or not, your environment does play a role in your ability to think clearly and be productive, and this is especially critical in the space where many of us start and end the day. We believe everyone should wake up inspired. That is why we create beautiful, functional spaces.”
