Just Sayin’

By  0 Comments

I love the warm, friendly feel of a hole-in-the-wall bar or restaurant. You can just feel the blood, sweat and tears that the owners of these places pour into their business! That’s something I’m proud to get behind.

Trust me. I could go on forever. But here are a just a few of my favorites in KC:

Mission Driven: If you are an animal lover, you’ll love everything about my friend Scott Poore’s passion project. He left corporate America a few years ago to dedicate his life to animals. He volunteers more than 50 hours a week in animal shelters and has made it his life’s purpose to give shelter pets a forever home. Scott has a super-cute clothing line. I’ve purchased a bunch of tees and they are so incredibly soft and comfy, with the best messages! Check ’em out at missiondrivengoods.com.

AaronFit: Fitness can be intimidating. I wanted to get stronger with accountability and proper training but I honestly didn’t know where to start. AaronFit was recommended to me and I signed up. Best decision ever. Aaron is so genuine; he left his teaching career to focus on fitness with a side of firefighting. He has such heart and takes a great amount of pride in his gym and helping his clients with their goals. He offers group classes or one-on-one training in the most non-intimidating, small environment! Work out with me! aaronfit.com.

Creative Culture KC: This is a brand-new place in Westport and I am here for it! My daughter was invited to a birthday party recently so we got to check it out. It’s a DIY creative studio and milkshake bar! How fun is that?! DIY projects include pottery, a plant bar and workshops. I just found out they do girls’ nights too. The husband-and-wife owners say they’ve just always dreamed of creating a place where all of their favorite things were combined into a single concept. Check ’em out at creativeculturekc.com.

Frankie & Jules Boutique: If you’ve shopped there, you already know. Excellent price points and real-life, stylish and functional apparel! Mother-and-daughter owners Jan and Julia are the sweetest! They’re a great follow on Instagram for outfit ideas! frankieandjules.com.
