Everleigh Design Studio: Trends in Home Designs

By  0 Comments

While we may be tired of talking about the ways the pandemic changed our lives and mindset, there is no doubt that we are still experiencing culture shifts as a result of the 2020 shutdowns. The home and remodeling industry, like so many others, saw some huge trends. And while life is moving back to a normal rhythm, these trends are still holding strong.

Kitchen Renovations
We have seen a great increase in kitchen refreshes over the last 12 months. The hottest trends in kitchen designs?
• Removing the microwave over the stove and replacing with a hood.
• Green kitchens! Green is the new gray.
• White subway tile backsplash.
• Black pulls and knobs.
• Lighter wood stained cabinets are starting to make a comeback as well, usually paired with a white island or hood range.

Laminate Flooring
You read right. Laminate is coming back with gusto! Gone are the days when laminate was seen as taboo. And, added bonus? With shipping issues still going on, many laminate options are made in the U.S.A.

Accent Tile
Whether it’s the bathroom or the kitchen or a laundry room, homeowners are adding extra design elements with patterned tile.

Basement Remodels
With more time being spent at home, new basement finishes are a hot priority.

If you have put off freshening up your living space but want to get started, now is the perfect time to start. With supply issues still a challenge, planning now for a spring refresh is recommended.
