Summer Trends That Won’t Break the Bank

By  0 Comments

Are you looking to add a few fun pieces to your closet without breaking the bank? Here are seven of my favorite summer trends that will be sure to spice up your wardrobe!

The Baseball Cap
I am not talking about just ANY ball cap; I’m talking about one with style. Perfect to keep the sun out of your eyes, protect your beautiful skin and the perfect item for a bad hair day. Look for a cap made from canvas, cotton or linen. I especially love the ones that have a leather detail.
Ball Cap, Target $16.99

The Sophisticated Straw Bag
Not just your average beach bag, the new straw bag has a level of sophistication that makes it pretty enough for everyday summer use. I love a tote style that can go over my shoulder, but I also love straw bags with contrasting color!
Straw Bag, Target $39.99

The Puffed Sleeve
Trending since the spring, the voluminous sleeve can be found all over. This trend is an easy way to add a level of femininity to your summer wardrobe. I especially love a puffed sleeve paired with a square neckline!
Puffed Sleeve Dress, H & M $24.99

Tailored Shorts in All Lengths
Leave those denim shorts on the shelf and try the tailored short for a change. This style will elevate even the simplest of tank tops. Most are pleated or belted, which is also a flattering style and will nip in the waist. I am in love with the longer, elegant style, dressy enough to pair with a blazer even for work!
Shorts, H & M $12.99

The Dressy Flip Flop
Remember the heeled flip flop from back in the ’90s? It’s back! But instead of a heeled flip flop, opt for a flat leather style. Look for styles in a nude or skin tone color to elongate any leg. My new favorite is a nude flip flop with a square toe. It’s the perfect way to update your shoe wardrobe and stay on trend.
Flip Flop, H & M $9.99

Eyelet
Always a summer fave of mine, eyelet is taking a spotlight this summer. It’s light, airy and always graceful. While it’s typically in white, add some sass to your top wardrobe by adding eyelet in black or even a color such as red or yellow!
Eyelet Top, H & M $29.99

Smocking
You’ll remember smocking from your dresses when you were a little girl. Well, this trend has been introduced into adult fashion and I couldn’t be happier. Smocking is just elastic and has a way of slimming out your figure if placed in the right places. I especially love when a dress is smocked right at the waist creating a tiny waistline!
Smocked Jumpsuit, H & M $49.99
