Sharing the Art of Beauty

By  0 Comments

As a stylist, my job is to guide people toward finding their own personal style, which in turn brings self-confidence and that feel-good feeling. With 2020 being such a roller coaster year, I have found that the keys to staying positive are to keep up on my style game AND practice a little bit of self-care.

Self-care looks different for everybody. For example, when I need a little pick-me-up, I book myself an appointment for a spray tan, because it always makes me feel five pounds slimmer, and its a little something I don’t normally do. Without much travel in the near future, having something to look forward will instantly give me a boost. This month I decided to do something that I have wanted to do for months and got a lash lift and tint from my friend Vanessa Patton at Endless Glow Beauty! The end result was exactly what I wanted and the experience was amazing as well.

Vanessa is a mom and an entrepreneur, just like so many women out there, and she runs a successful business. Through the art of beauty, she brings confidence to women. I love being able to share some of my favorite beauty experts with you, so I thought it was important that I introduced you to Vanessa!

AW: How long have you owned Endless Glow Beauty and the Beauty Lounge? Why did you decide to open your own business?

VP: This October we’ll celebrate 12 years of business for Endless Glow Beauty and nine years for the Beauty Lounge.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I decided at a young age that I wanted to own my own business, which most likely stemmed from watching and learning from my dad, who was an entrepreneur himself.

AW: Twelve years, that’s amazing! You must know all the secrets! What is your beauty background and how did you get into this field?

VP: I graduated from KU in 2008, which proved to be a bad time for a recent graduate to secure a job. So, I decided to attend esthetic school at JCCC. I learned the importance of keeping sun exposure down to a minimum but I loved the way I looked when I had color! I couldn’t seem to get an even color from self tanners or a spray booth so I searched for a solution and came across airbrush tanning. After creating a business plan and getting a small business loan from my dad, Endless Glow Beauty was born.

AW: I am loving my lash lift and tint. It looks so natural! What other services do you offer at Endless Glow Beauty and which one is your favorite?

VP: We offer a number of services including airbrush tanning, full body waxing and lash extensions and lifts. Picking a favorite service is like picking a favorite child! I love them all.

AW: What is your favorite part of your job?

VP: I absolutely love my job. And I’m not just saying that. I really, really love my job. I love my clients who after time become friends. During an appointment, we talk, laugh and share stories. It’s like I get paid to chitchat with friends all day! I also love the boost of confidence a client has after a service. Making clients feel beautiful is so fulfilling.

AW: You are a mom and a small business owner; do you have one piece of advice you would give to your fellow business owners?

VP: Give yourself some grace. It’s hard. You feel pulled in a lot of different directions. Oftentimes if I’m killing it in one area of my life, I feel like I’m dropping the ball in another. Try to find a balance that works for you and know that you’re doing the best you can!
