Every Fall 2019 Trend You Need to Know About!
For the past few years, I feel like fall fashion has been pretty predictable. So I was very excited to see some fresh new trends walk the runways this year. Read on for some of my favorites and try to make them your own!
Leather
Leather is playing a leading role this fall and not just in the accessories department. We will be seeing everything in leather from tops and trousers to jackets and jeans. And don’t forget to add that LBLD (little black leather dress) to your closet!
Utility Trend
You already have the utility jacket hanging in your closet (I know you do!) so take it a step further by sporting utility shirts and blouses and maybe even something cargo inspired! If it looks like you are about to go on African safari, you are on the right track! If you do go the cargo pant route, make sure it is an updated style of cargo and not those vintage cargo pants you got at Abercrombie and Fitch in high school.
Heritage Prints
Keep a lookout for anything herringbone, checked and plaid. If you have a plaid blazer hanging in your closet from around 1992, it’s pretty safe to say it has circled back to being on trend! Just make sure it’s still in decent shape to be worn out of the house. Update this classic print by pairing with unexpected items such as boyfriend jeans or an ankle strap heel!
Puffed Sleeves
Coming in hot in all types of volumes, find the puffed sleeve that speaks to you! It used to be puffed sleeves were only seen on women with ultra feminine style but that isn’t the case this season. We are seeing puffed sleeves in all fabrics. Is your style more classic? Stick to a cotton poplin blouse with a puffed sleeve. Do you have more of an out-of-the-box style? Go bold with an all-leather puffed sleeve top.
Animal print
No, it isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s nice to know that the animal print items you purchased last year are still on trend and in full force! There isn’t anything you won’t see in an animal print this season. Keep an eye out for a new iteration of animal print, tiger, making an appearance in all accessories and clothing!
Boot Cut Jeans
At last! The boot cut jean is finally back and hopefully here to stay. Still holding back on this classic trend? Find the perfect pair of dark denim boot cut jeans tailored just right and it will be worth it. Who wouldn’t want their legs to look ultra long, and that is exactly what a boot cut jean is going to do: lengthen your legs! ■
