Holiday Magic

By  0 Comments

There is something to be said about the magical feeling that overtakes many of us during the holidays. It’s not something that you can buy; it’s not something that you can make. It’s this undeniable feeling that exists through the end of the year.

Mixed within all the holiday hustle we do for our families, we do more for others. We share kindness more. We think about others more. But the question is, why do we do this more during the holidays and sometimes less the other ten months of the year?

If you have young children at home, odds are likely that the Elf on the Shelf is magically circulating in your home right now.

Here’s the story. The Elf on the Shelf comes from the North Pole and helps Santa keep tabs on the naughty/nice list. The Elf will travel to the North Pole each night once your child goes to sleep and report to Santa each night. Magically, by morning the Elf returns to your home in a new spot for your children to find when they wake up. The Elf is in a new spot to signal they have made that trip to the North Pole to visit Santa.

Each Elf has a special name that your family will pick out. Our Elf on the Shelf has been with us for about ten years now. His name is Jingle Bell.

This picture is from last year with my youngest daughter, Aubrianna. She was so darn excited to find Jingle Bell that morning in our bathroom. She was even more excited to see that Jingle Bell left a special message for her. “I love you.” It is a simple message but one that carries an impactful feeling when you hear it.

And when you think about that holiday magic, maybe the other ten months of the year we need to keep this simple message in mind. Sharing love to others is an easy thing to do, but so impactful to others.

Much love to you Kansas City. Cheers to the end of 2021.
