Shana & Bo

By  0 Comments

Shana and Bo Yurko were best friends in high school, and are all that and more today.

“Bo proposed to me while we were swing dancing on the beach at sunset!” smiles Shana. “He took me out on a date; I had no clue where we were going, but I was told to wear my cowboy boots. We pulled up to Newport Beach, and the sun was setting over the ocean. Bo set up a Bluetooth speaker and our GoPro in the sand, and then swing danced with me to a list of our favorite country songs. During “Forever Girl” by John Langston, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him!”

The blissful couple tied the knot on May 22, 2015, in an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo at Ellis Ranch Event Center in Loveland, Colorado. Shana’s Maid of Honor was Eleigh Arnold, and bridesmaids were Hillary Schweizer, Misha McCulloch, Michelle Donovan, Sarah Winkler, Melissa Bennett, Ashley Franklin, Kaitlyn Embury, Amanda Madsen and Kelsey Hepp. Bo chose Austin Yurko to serve as Best Man, and groomsmen were Brian Toth, Zach Newnam, Brandon Schroeder, John Reffel, Steve Silvas, Jake Levin, Nick Kasa, Ashton Renshaw and Cody Moore.

The bride was resplendent in a lovely gown with spaghetti straps, lace bodice and layered tulle skirt flowing into a short train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses, peonies and gerbera daisies, embellished with at satin ribbon and sentimental brooch. The peach hues of the bridesmaids’ gowns echoed their bouquets and the vests, ties and boutonnieres of the groom and groomsmen.

“It rained the whole week leading up to the wedding. And not the nice, gentle, sprinkling kind of rain; it was the torrential downpour kind of rain,” shares Shana. “The day of the wedding was no exception, until about a half an hour before the ceremony. It stopped raining just long enough for us to have our first look, say our original vows, and take family photos. Luckily, mud wasn’t an issue, since the entire wedding party wore cowboy boots. Every single personalized detail and decoration was made by my mom, Karina Barrios. Bo’s mom planned an adorably perfect rehearsal dinner, and both of our dads made beautiful speeches during the reception.” Guests danced long into the night in celebration and joy.
