Kailyn & Craig

By  0 Comments

Mutual friends introduced Kailyn and Craig Powers, and after staying up until 6:00 a.m. talking, this pair had a good idea that they were meant for each other.

It may have taken Craig all day to propose to Kailyn, but he definitely had it in mind. “We went golfing for Craig’s birthday, where he planned on proposing, but we got paired up with another couple who didn’t give us much privacy!” Kailyn laughs. “I could tell he was nervous all day, not really himself. Later that night we had a few friends over and just after midnight on June 21st, after a few drinks, he finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It may not have gone according to plan, but it was still perfect! I’m glad our friends were there, and they got some great action shots of Craig proposing!”

The blissful couple tied the knot on August 15, 2015, in a beautiful outdoor wedding and reception at the home of Craig’s father. Bridesmaids were – Jordann Barbier, Samantha Clement, Jeannie Thomas, Lauren Moore, Ashley Bremmer, Erika Baca, Stephanie Doss, Amanda Russell and Haley Kernan. Groomsmen were Jay Dinkel, Jeff Spletzer Andrew Ardueser, Matt Frauenfelder, Steve Bremmer, Matt Blue, Ryan Spainhower, Todd Russell and Dustin Uhland. The bridal couple’s daughters, Adriana and Teagan, and their niece Berkleigh, completed the wedding party as flower girls, and Adriana also acted as ring bearer. The officiant was a close family friend, Dan Spletzer.

“We had a beautiful stage in the backyard where we said our vows, and a big patio where we had cocktail hour before the reception began,” Kailyn remembers. “Craig’s dad, Jeff, and his girlfriend, Mary, have quite a few pet tortoises, and a few of them were entertaining our guests as they wandered around outside during our reception! One of the fun things we did, instead of a traditional wedding cake, was to have cinnamon rolls and cookies, which our guests loved! We had a huge, circus-style tent covering the dance floor and dinner area. It rained at our reception and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful double rainbow for some amazing pictures.”

Kailyn and Craig honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, where they were privileged to participate in the releasing of baby sea turtles. For the rest of the week, they golfed, explored the Mayan ruins at Tulum, went ATVing through the jungle and snorkeling in the cenotes.
