Hope House Receives 2015 Governor’s Service Award
Hope House of Colorado was recognized by Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia’s office as Outstanding Nonprofit Organization at the 2015 Governor’s Service Awards ceremony on August 28. The awards are presented in recognition and appreciation to individuals, community leaders and various organizations for their outstanding contribution to volunteerism and service throughout Colorado. “This award is dedicated to our amazing community of volunteers who are making a real difference in the lives of our young moms,” said Lisa Steven, founder and executive director of Hope House. “We are on track to empower more than 150 teen moms this year, which would not be possible without their extraordinary help.” Hope House welcomes volunteers of all ages, with 245 volunteers donating over 8,300 hours of free service last year. Hope House was nominated by Lauren Ambrozic, executive director of the Colorado Prevention Alliance. For information on Hope House, see hopehouseofcolorado.org. HLM
