Honeymoon Fashion Must-Haves

By  0 Comments

When it comes to planning your honeymoon, the options are plentiful and the destinations are diverse, so here are a few items that will be useful to you no matter where you decide to go.

Anytime Accessories
I’ve been admiring the Caraa Sport line of handbags and accessories for the sleek lines and millions of hidden pockets that each bag seems to have. I’m particularly fond of the Studio 2 Medium Bag in Sand. It’s constructed from waterproof luxury Italian nylon and goes from a backpack to a cross body in a snap. The antimicrobial inner lining along with the waterproof shoe pouch and wet clothing bag make it a no-brainer to take with you on every trip across the globe. I will always have a soft spot for a nice leather duffel bag, but this line of travel bags is so lightweight and stylish that it’s hard to imagine toting anything else with me. They offer so many shapes, sizes and colors that no matter your aesthetic, there is sure to be a style for you.

It’s important to accessorize wherever you may be; and the petite powerhouse of a jewelry travel case from Mejuri is one of the best on the market to transport your precious bits and bobs. The brand is known for making beautiful high-quality jewelry, and they use the same expert artisans to handcraft these compact cases in grain leather and anti-tarnish microsuede. You can opt to add a custom monogram as well, so they also make a fabulous gift for your bridal party or mother-in-law before the big day.

Hopefully your honeymoon destination will be bright and sunny regardless of the climate, which means you’ll need an awesome pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes. Get yourself on over to the Sunglass Hut to try on a pair of the Ralph by Ralph Lauren tortoise shell sunnies (RA5203). They are available in six colors, but my favorite is the classic tortoiseshell that has been updated with a hint of rose gold. These timeless shades will look fantastic on any face shape and will add a touch of class to any travel ensemble.

Apres Ski with Me!
If you prefer to make snow angels with your honey rather than footprints in the sand, then you will most likely be jetting off on a mountain resort honeymoon. I always picture the magical Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Canada as the ultimate honeymoon haven for snow bunnies. For the most stylish base layers around, you’ll want to check out the online Ski Shop from Sweaty Betty London. The kitschy coordinated tops and bottoms will protect you from the elements and look fresh in the ski lodge post snowboard lesson.

If you are anything like me and are only a somewhat skilled skier, then you will appreciate something soft and cuddly that you can wear while cozying up with your sweetie next to the fireplace. The Alpine Shop has a plethora of adorable options for your snowy adventures, and this 100 percent merino wool Fair Isle-inspired tunic sweater will surely meet your fireside needs. Fair Isle is a style of knitting that originated in the Shetland Islands, Scotland, and typically has multicolored bands of geometric patterns. Complete your après-ski ensemble with a cozy knit legging and some ultra-warm socks by Muk Luks. I’m partial to the over-the-knee styles so that I can still rock my tall winter boots while showing a sneak peek of the whimsical prints on the socks.

Big City Adventures!
Whether you’re planning an elopement in Las Vegas or your honeymoon in New York City, most large cities are filled with action-packed options for your trip. A “city” honeymoon gives you the option of being pampered, enjoying fine dining and upscale shopping, taking in the culture of a museum or Broadway show, and experiencing fun nightlife all in one day! Luckily for you, Buckle has everything you need for your adventure. Their mission is “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guest,” so they will surely be pleased to outfit you for any and all occasions. For a trip like this, you’ll want a lightweight jacket that’s easy to pack and won’t turn into a wrinkled mess. Snakeskin, leopard and camo prints work as neutrals this season, so why not bring along a faux suede snakeskin jacket that will pair effortlessly with your favorite denim jeans or a sassy little dress. The side-zip pockets will ensure that you don’t lose any valuables while out and about. For a day to evening dress option, a sweet crochet midi dress will do the trick. You can layer a cardigan over it or a T-shirt under it for daytime sightseeing with cute flats, and then throw on some heels and your cropped snakeskin jacket for an evening of dining and dancing that you won’t soon forget.

Sun and Fun!
Break out the sunscreen and sandals, we’re going to the beach! Whether you’re headed to sunny Miami, Florida, or exotic Bora Bora in French Polynesia, you will want to get your relax on in these gorgeous get-ups. I discovered Summersault, a St. Louis based resort wear brand, when they launched in 2017 and now I really don’t want to wear anything else near the water. All of their fashion-forward suits are made from premium recycled materials and offer UPF 50+ protection, so they stand up to sand, sweat and chlorine like no other suit that I have ever owned. The most impressive thing about the brand is their commitment to sustainability and the planet. I’m currently crushing on the Swan Dive bathing suit for the sweet cutouts and the variety of lush tropical colors that it’s offered in. Throw on the Easy Breezy Sarong and you will be prepared to go from lounging to lunching. You can continue to bliss out in the evening wearing a flowing maxi dress by Elan to cocktails and dinner with your BAE. This pink-and-green floral print frock available at Dillard’s even has pockets so that you can bring your lip gloss, ID and hair ties without the need to tote a bag all evening. The perfect sandal to complement your look is the Madden Girl Cybell found at Dry Goods. The cork footbed swathed in jute espadrille with a bright white sole wrap encompass so many current trends into one that you can’t go wrong. Both color options of nude and black will flatter your newly bronzed limbs.

Bon Voyage!
