Spotlight on Allison Spidle, Realtor Lake Viking

By  0 Comments

As a diplomatic representative of the United States, you’re called upon to carry out a strategic political plan focused on achieving the best outcome for your country. An intensive and deep understanding of the critical points has already been contemplated as part of the preparations. Now critical negotiations begin to achieve a solution that’s beneficial to your side, yet is acceptable to those sitting across the table.

Just think how important it would be if you could bring that skill set to work for you as you negotiate one of the most important financial decisions you will ever make in your lifetime, the purchase of your home.

Gaining Proficiency

Then call upon the expertise of Allison Spidle, RE/MAX Town and Country real estate agent, specializing in the Lake Viking area, just an hour away from Kansas City. This 33-year-old astute business woman, wife and mother brings an impressive career in diplomatic relations, having represented the United States in various foreign countries. Now, she carries this skill set into every real estate deal she oversees for her clients.

“After graduating from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, I worked in Washington, D.C., as a defense contractor. Then I was accepted into the U.S. Foreign Service with the Department of State as a member of America’s diplomatic corps,” noted Allison. “Kosovo was my last posting and there I met my husband, a body guard for the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo. We decided to get married, but we realized that life as a diplomat was not the best for having a family.”

Transferring Natural Expertise

The pair moved back to Allison’s home state of Missouri. Having been born in Gallatin, Missouri, she was very familiar with the positives this area can offer a family. “I love where I’m from and I love this rural corner of Missouri and Lake Viking,” she commented. “Lake Viking is such a down-to-earth place and offers the best of two worlds. It’s remote enough that you don’t have to interact with a soul and can have your own haven, but you can also be involved and make it your life. Best of all, it’s so affordable.”

When the move back home was complete, Allison decided that a career in real estate would make use of her diplomatic skills. “Real estate was a natural thing for me to do,” she said. “I like people and I like the spirit of negotiating.”

Community of Lake Viking

Sitting in the center of a large natural watershed is Lake Viking, a private 630-acre man-made lake ranging to a depth of more than 70 feet. The pristine water offers an array of activities with exceptional fishing, water sports, boating, skiing, swimming and abundant wildlife. The entire community is about 2,300 acres of Ozark-type terrain, with rolling, tree-covered hills and natural lake fingers or coves tucked away from view. The shoreline features 19 miles that are maintained, most protected by rock to prevent erosion.

“I want potential clients to think of me as a resource for the lake and as someone who knows what they’re doing and can help them realize their goal of getting that perfect Lake Viking property,” revealed Allison. “On the business side, I love statistics; I enjoy working the numbers and I closely watch the market, which builds trust and confidence in me as a Realtor. My goal is to get you the Lake Viking house that fits you at the best possible price that I can. Lots are also available for building your custom dream home.”

Beauty and Convenience

No commercial development company is associated with Lake Viking. It’s owned entirely by private property owners, and there are about 1,800 active lot owners. Waterfront homes range from $250,000 through $790,000 and even higher. If you want to build, waterfront lots vary from $15,000 up to $200,000, depending on the location. Homes away from the water can start at under $100,000, while some lots can be listed at less than $1,000. Homeowners can also take advantage of a clubhouse and swimming pool that are maintained by the association.

“To top it all off, it’s only an hour to Lake Viking from the Kansas City metro. We’re so much closer than Lake of the Ozarks,” emphasized Allison. “But what really sets Lake Viking apart is its sense of community.”

“Buying a home at Lake Viking doesn’t have to be stressful,” offered Allison. “Issues or hiccups can crop up in any business deal, but the important thing is to have anticipated it and to work through it with my clients to make sure their interests are covered from all angles. For me, success is when all parties walk away from the table with everyone feeling good.” HLM
