AesthetiCare Introduces Cellina™, Revolutionary Treatment for Cellulite

The only place for dimples is on your face. Those adorable indentations, found on rounded cheeks, are just perfect for kissing, patting and pinching.

But for many women, dimpled cheeks are located elsewhere, and there’s nothing cute about them.

Cellulite, pocketed marks of fat on the buttocks and thighs, impacts 85 percent of females between the ages of 24 to 54. For AesthetiCare, the leading medical day spa in the KC metro, the staff wants to do something about reducing all those dimples. They’re accomplishing it with a revolutionary new technology called Cellfina™, the smooth that lasts.

State-of-the-Art Procedure

“Our goal at AesthetiCare is to carry the latest and most effective technology in the industry, and Cellfina promises to be one of the most revolutionary,” noted Matt Taranto, managing partner, AesthetiCare. “This is truly groundbreaking technology. It’s the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive, one-time procedure that’s clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years. This is the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment.”

Cellulite isn’t caused by fat or loosening skin but by the connective bands woven throughout the fat. These vertical bands pull down on the skin, which creates the puckering that women dread seeing in the mirror. Hormones and genetics can be major root causes among the 64 million women dealing with cellulite. The Cellfina system treats the primary structural cause of cellulite, the connective bands woven throughout fat in the thighs and buttocks. Similar to a rubber band that’s under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out in as few as three days.

Changes Structure of Cellulite

“Cellfina addresses cellulite by treating the primary structural cause of cellulite,” shared Leigh Rydell, regional sales director for Merz, representing Cellfina. “Performed by a qualified physician in an office setting, Cellfina combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology to treat the primary structural cause of cellulite. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina produces precise, long-lasting results.”

The procedure is relatively simple. First, cellulite dimples are marked on the patient’s skin. The Cellfina device is placed over these markings and vacuums the area into a small flat chamber. Then the provider delivers a local numbing agent to prepare for the treatment. Once the area is numb, a minimally invasive, small, needle-sized device is inserted into the cellulite bands, which allows them to be released. The result is skin that is smooth, with no dimpling.

“In just one 45-minute treatment, Cellfina significantly improves the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs. Results will be visible in as few as three days, and results are still there two years after treatment,” noted Matt. “Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but these side effects resolve quickly with time. There’s little down time with the procedure, although you may want to take it easy for about a day.”

Experience and Clinical Results

“Finally, there is a cellulite solution that works, and it’s Cellfina,” enthused Leigh. “In the past, women have had some success with lasers, liposuction, radio frequency equipment or creams, but the results were not impressive and did not remain. With Cellfina, this is the smooth that lasts.”

Patients in a clinical study showed significant improvement within three days after the treatment. Two years after treatment, 100 percent of Cellfina patients had noticeable improvement. They report high rates of satisfaction with their treatment results. At three months, 85 percent of patients were satisfied; at one year 94 percent were satisfied and after two years, 96 percent of patients were satisfied, surpassing the patient satisfaction rates of other leading cellulite treatments.
