Janessa Howell, director of marketing and operations, Celsius Tannery, knows this. “I started with Celsius in February 1997. Celsius opened in May 1995,” she explained. “I went to UMKC for my elementary education degree, then they offered me a management position I couldn’t refuse so I took it and never looked back.”

Janessa noted, “We are also getting ready to upgrade our tanning technology next year to a hybrid tanning unit, which will incorporate UV lights and red light technology, which stimulates collagen production and has added skin care benefits. You get the best of both worlds in one session.”

Celsius Tannery Smart Tan certified, customer service tanning consultants have always prided themselves on certification and teaching clients to tan the right way. The salon has completed Smart Tan’s COVID-19 sanitation and physical distancing protocol training for the professional tanning industry. Celsius Tannery has always had a philanthropic involvement and is proud of their record of giving back to the community, including their partnership with Mission Driven Goods, which helps with animal rescue. “We are so proud to help Mission Driven Goods and Scott Poore, who’s truly an angel among us and a voice for homeless pets, continue his amazing efforts and rescue work! After the special dog, Sally Sue, gained national attention from Fox News, she was recently adopted to a furever home in Delaware,” she mentioned. “We also work with MOCSA, the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault, and we recently gave away tickets to the Charity Chiefs game to one of our generous clients who donated.

“People are coming in to look good and feel good; what better business model could there be?” she smiled.
