Just Sayin’

By  0 Comments

People will sometimes look at the relationship I have with my husband and think that every guy I ever dated must’ve been similar. HA! That couldn’t be further from the truth. I made some pretty bad choices in the love life department for a lot of years.

I can look back now and see very clearly that it was my dysfunctional childhood and lack of self-esteem and confidence that made me an easy target. I was also the queen of trying to fix other people. Spoiler alert: it never worked.

When I started dating Matthew, I learned quickly that he was different. He didn’t need to be fixed. He wasn’t interested in controlling or fighting with me. He liked me for—me. I started to come out of the fog and realize that I was worthy of that!

Here’s my message to you today.

Be you. Be true to yourself. Embrace your quirks. All of that stuff is what makes you—YOU! It separates you from the crowd. That’s a beautiful thing.

And one final thought.

Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle. I’ve been there, done that, and nothing good came from it. Sadly, I’m watching it happen to someone I love very much right now and it hurts my heart. Shine bright and be bold enough to walk away from anyone or anything trying to turn you into something you’re not.

You are enough.
