Kristen Kneidel, RN, BSN Clinical Nurse Injector: The Art of Injecting

By  0 Comments

Kristen’s passion for creating face art began as a young adult when she began to work in the makeup industry during nursing school. She jokes that her coworkers would laugh because they would turn around and discover her wearing a new lip color every hour. The textures, pigments, brushes and the clients were her palette for creating natural beauty. “I went to bed reading all the makeup books I could find. I dreamed of carrying brushes for the legendary artists Dick Page, Pat McGrath, Kevin Aucoin and Bobbi Brown,” she said. “A display of Kevin Aucoin’s book Making Faces leaned in my former office for years as a tribute to his art. I continued to be a freelance makeup artist for several years post nursing school, as it continued to be my creative outlet.”

After working years in various areas of nursing and moving to several cities with her family, Kristen landed in Kansas City and has been here ever since. She has been in the aesthetic industry as a clinical nurse injector for six years, serving her K.C. patients and those who travel to see her on a regular basis. “What I love about my patients is developing a relationship with each of them. It is not only about creating balance, symmetry and proportion to each face; it is truly about the connection and building trust,” she continued.

She uses Botox® and Dysport® to soften lines and wrinkles, and various dermal fillers to lift, support and add subtle volume to the face to create a soft, natural look that enhances each patient’s natural beauty. She uses Kybella® to dissolve unwanted fat under the chin, and Sculptra® to add overall volume and lift to the face.

She cautions that when choosing an injector, ask questions and do your research. Many patients are going for the “deals” instead of choosing the artist and talent of the provider. Look for providers that value ongoing training; ask them how many injectable patients they see each week, not how many years they have been in the industry. Ask to see before-and-after photos of their work, how long they have been injecting filler, what their credentials and qualifications are, and why they are choosing the products that are right for you. It is imperative to choose a provider with knowledge and concern for safety, as well as someone who listens to your goals so you can collaborate on a short-term and long-term plan that is right for you.

After years of working in a large medical practice, Kristen recently teamed up with an innovative, supportive team of medical and business visionaries who are collaborating with her to create and expand her practice. “I am blessed to have found a team of like-minded individuals who share a vision of growing my aesthetic business to serve the K.C. metro and surrounding areas.”

Kristen is also sharing her knowledge of injectables through private trainings for current providers. “This has recently turned into a fun venture that has allowed me to share my joy and passion with others who have a desire to learn,” she concluded.
