The Boots That Are Made for Walking—This Season

By  0 Comments

Boot season is certainly here, and the fashion world has introduced (and re-introduced) lots of fun styles. Don’t let your closet be without at least one of these street-stopping styles this winter!

The Over the Knee or OTK Boot
I have been loving this style since last fall and I will continue to wear it as along as it is in style. OTK boots will elongate your leg and make your look stand out in a crowd in a sophisticated way. As an extra bonus, they are typically made of suede with a little bit of stretch, so they are super comfortable too!

Style tip: Pair these with skinny black jeans or skinny blue jeans but make sure your jeans are skinny through the hip and through the knee and calf as well. You almost want to look for a legging-style jean. OTK boots will look super sleek as long as there isn’t a bunch of extra fabric bagging everywhere else. If you have thicker legs, look for OTK boots that are labeled
wide width.

The Leopard Bootie
It’s always a classic print; everyone should have a little bit of leopard in their wardrobe this season. In fashion, there are many iterations of the leopard print, so find the one that is right for you! I love the darker caramel-colored leopard without as much variation, like this Sam Edelman bootie!

Style tip: A little bit of a heel will give this busy print a more feminine look on your foot. Go “wild” and pair these with stripes or keep it sleek and wear them with your favorite all-black outfit.

The Snakeskin Bootie
Well, friends, I told you the ’90s were back, and they brought the snakeskin print with them! If leopard print isn’t your jam, this is the perfect animal print to add to your wardrobe. For easy pairing, choose a snakeskin print of neutral colors that will enhance your look instead of take over. I am obsessed with this Jeffrey Campbell bootie that has just a hint of burgundy marbled into the neutral beige and black.

Style tip: This print will make quite the statement, so keep the rest of your look more tame. Pair with a blue denim and a clean white button-down shirt to create that edgy yet classic balance.
