Janelle and Nolan Aubrecht
What is the most flattering gown color on a bride blessed with a porcelain complexion and strawberry blonde hair? Blush pink, of course.
And thus, that was the first and final gown Janelle selected when she tried on her Stephen Yearick designer dream dress.
Remembering the style sense of her paternal grandmother, Janelle opted for the bridesmaids to wear opera length gloves with their spearmint-green dresses. It was a visual breath of spring in an April that had seen snow on Easter Sunday!
Nolan Aubrecht, typically very organized, will remember that in the wedding hustle of “time to get to the church,” the rings were left in his car, parked at the country club where the reception was to follow after the ceremony.
When this realization occurred, as he was about to walk down the aisle, a quick dash by the wedding planner ensued. No speeding tickets were a consequence and the rings were delivered to the groomsman closest to the entry door with the instruction “Pass them down,” just as the ring exchange began!
Memories were made as the bridal party stopped for outdoor pictures surrounded by blooming plum trees, and the girls shivered in blush pink pashminas!
The guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner at tables draped in shimmering silvery-gold linens and glowing with dozens of mercury-glass votive candles. Elevated centerpieces of pink peonies, roses and, of course, spring tulips were on each of the tables.
Following their honeymoon to Hawaii, the newlyweds make their home in Kansas City. ■
