Kansas City ObGyn
“If a woman is looking to build a more intimate relationship with a physician who is willing to take the time to listen to her needs and tailor a treatment plan for her, then come here to Kansas City ObGyn,” said Dr. Arroyo. “We’re able to accomplish this in an environment that’s engaging, warm and comfortable.”
Many of us wouldn’t think of a visit to a doctor as one that would be comfortable, warm and engaging. But the physicians at Kansas City ObGyn are out to change that perception with the practice they’ve opened at 12200 West 106th Street in Overland Park, Kansas. They’ve focused on creating an environment that’s welcoming and relaxing, coupled with a staff that seeks to offer the best quality care with compassion and warmth.
“In developing our practice at Kansas City ObGyn, we formed a staff focused on making our patients feel comfortable and at ease in a trusting environment,” stated Dr. Emily Minderman. “It’s key for us to listen to them and hear their concerns. Our physicians and staff are involved in the most intimate moments in their lives, and we respect that. We’re glad they share those moments with us.”
“Our patients range from adolescents to grandmothers, a full gamut of ages for those needing female care,” noted Dr. Errick Arroyo. “Kansas City ObGyn is a practice that takes the time to listen to a woman’s needs. It’s important to develop a strong bond with our patients, which is not only good for the patient but worthwhile for us as physicians. Our practice is really a very comfortable atmosphere, which comes from the caring attitude of the staff.”
Kansas City ObGyn is a brand-new concept for women’s health services in Johnson County, Kansas. The practice opened in January, adjacent to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, and is staffed by Dr. Arroyo, Dr. Minderman, Dr. Meghan Nichols, Dr. Crystal Newby and Dr. J. Anthony Heit. Going against a growing national trend for hospital-owned practices, Kansas City ObGyn is independently owned and operated by its physicians. This independence gives the physicians and nurses better flexibility in caring for their patients. “We wanted a way in which we could provide quality women’s care while retaining autonomy,” noted Dr. Arroyo. “At Kansas City ObGyn, we have the flexibility and freedom to treat women the way we believe we need to treat them, and we are not bound to meet restrictive corporate goals and objectives.”
The care offered at Kansas City ObGyn includes a full range of obstetric and gynecological services. “We provide general obstetric and gyn services, encompassing all aspects of female care, with a focus on well woman checkups and preventative visits,” explained Dr. Minderman. “For instance, we can complete initial workups and treatment for infertility. We provide care for abnormal Pap smears, abnormal bleeding, incontinence and pelvic support issues. High-risk and low-risk pregnancies are expertly managed. We can help in the management of a woman’s menopause transition and discuss hormone therapies, alternate treatments and expected results. We can review contraceptive choices with women and offer adolescent care.”
In addition, all of the physicians at Kansas City ObGyn are surgeons, employing the latest innovative technology, including the internationally acclaimed daVinci® robotic surgical technique, a state-of-the-art option for minimally invasive procedures.
The progressive nature of this practice goes well beyond the medical aspect of treating patients. The actual facilities feature modern, thoughtfully designed spaces. The entire office has been planned to provide a welcoming environment for the patient. “If you imagine a doctor’s office, it has a fairly generic, run-of-the-mill décor, but we wanted to break free from that mold. There is no reason you can’t enjoy a bit of style while you’re visiting your doctor,” emphasized Dr. Minderman. “We worked with our architects and designers to create a warm and inviting concept and color scheme. The furniture, fabrics and surfaces were chosen to convey a spa-like atmosphere that’s classy yet comfortable. We didn’t want a sterile doctor’s office for our patients, and besides, we enjoy walking in the doors each day, too.”
If you’d like to benefit from the many amenities offered by Kansas City ObGyn, the practice is accepting new patients.
“Women like the experience at Kansas City ObGyn because they know that the staff likes what they do. We’re focused on forming a good relationship with our patients, which invites good discussion and results in excellent treatment,” added Dr. Minderman. “There are many practices in the KC community, but we offer our patients so much more.”
