Tied the Knot: September 21, 2019

Stephanie (Brumm) Romualdo, 30, earned a bachelor’s in nursing from Grand Canyon University and currently works as an ICU charge nurse in Lodi, California. She and her groom, Henry, live in Stockton, California.

Henry Romualdo, 31, completed his associate’s degree in respiratory therapy from Kaplan College. He currently works as a respiratory care practitioner in Lodi, California.

Stephanie and Henry met working in Lodi Memorial Hospital. “It was definitely a ‘he saw her first’ moment and he was hooked,” Stephanie laughs. “Long phone calls and many coffee dates later, after playing hard to get, I knew he was ‘the one.’”

Sunrise in the mountains is a spectacular time and place for a proposal. “Given our love for the outdoors, Henry took me on a sunrise hike in South Lake Tahoe to Maggie’s Peaks,” Stephanie recalls. “After two hours of hiking, we reached the summit and all I wanted to do was capture the sunrise, all while he was setting up his GoPro for what I had no idea of at the time. He pulled me away from taking photos to say some sweet words and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him; I said yes before he could finish asking! Henry had planned a surprise party with our families to celebrate later that night.”

The blissful couple tied the knot September 21, 2019. Stephanie’s sister, Sarah, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Lia, Michelle and Megan. Henry’s Best Man was his childhood friend Alfred; groomsmen were Caleb, Tavish and Jon. Tareah and Ezra served as junior bridesmaid and junior groomsman; flower girls were Selah, Glory and Hallelujah; ring bearers were Isaiah and Soren. All younger members of the bridal party are nieces and nephews of the bride and groom.

It was so special to see so many family and friends coming to celebrate our most favorite day. The day’s highlight was our ‘first look,’ seeing Henry’s face when he saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. We all laughed, danced and sang our hearts out at the reception,” Stephanie shares. “What made it sweeter was Henry’s dad, who had been battling stage 4 cancer, was able to walk down the aisle and dance on the dance floor. We felt so loved by everyone who attended.”

Stephanie and Henry spent their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, enjoying parasailing, zip lining, driving dune buggies and the beach.
