Katherine and Garrett Butler

Tied the Knot: June 24, 2017

Katherine and Garrett Butler met randomly through mutual friends many times, and their solid relationship grew after Katherine finally said yes to a date.

Garrett’s proposal was a day the couple will always remember. “It was a rainy day,” Katherine describes. “Garrett had a limousine pick me up at my house, and it took me on a scavenger hunt throughout Lodi, visiting various places significant to our first date. At each location a single rose and a clue to the next location awaited. The scavenger hunt ended at Oak Farms, where Garrett was standing underneath the famous oak tree. Standing under a little red umbrella, Garrett spoke to me sweetly, promising me a life of love and adventure. He then knelt down and asked me the question that will result in many happily ever afters.”

The blissful couple tied the knot June 24, 2017, in a long-anticipated celebration at the bride’s childhood home. Katherine’s Matron of Honor was Allie Broman; bridesmaids were Sarah Ehlers, Sarah Joubert, Dayna Azevedo, Lauren Gomes, Sophia Butler, Hannah Butler, Karly Liepart and Whitney Vitt. Garrett’s Best Man was Blake Butler, and groomsmen were Roman Butler, Holden Butler, Pierce Butler, Josh Parrish, Kevin Straw, James Ehlers, Joseph Ehlers and Paul Broman.

“As we planned our wedding, we were happy to see everythingcome together so smoothly and perfectly,” Katherine smiles. “Garrett and I prayed for peace everyday and asked the Lord to help us create the wedding that He knew would be perfect, and it was! Garrett and I felt we grew closer and stronger together than ever before. That is how we knew it was meant to be!”

Garrett planned a honeymoon for the ages to start their marriage. “Garrett surprised me with a road trip down the California Coast, starting at Laguna Beach. The weather was awesome and it was the absolute perfect location to start off our honeymoon! He then surprised me with my first trip to Universal Studios. The crowds were mellow so it was another great day together. That night, Garrett took me to the Griffith Observatory to see the stars! The next day, his surprise was an all-day pass to one of my favorite places on earth, Disneyland! We stayed there until midnight. For the rest of the trip we stayed in the Carmel and Monterey area. I surprised Garrett with a beautiful brunch at the Gallery Cafe on his favorite golf course, Pebble Beach. We had so much fun driving along the coast and stopping at any beach we wanted to explore. It was a wonderful honeymoon; we played, laughed and cried with great joy, making memories that will last a lifetime.” ■
