Dedicated Financial & Insurance Services, Inc.: A Dual-Purpose Firm

By  0 Comments

After spending 26 years in the institutional and wholesale food and beverage industries, Dale Immekus chose to make a career change that would give him greater satisfaction by helping people. So, in 2006, at age 46, he took a leap of faith and embarked on a new career in financial and insurance services.

However, working for a large firm was not a good fit for him, so in 2012, he founded an independent firm, Dedicated Financial & Insurance Services. “It quickly became obvious that I would need an office assistant to keep up with the demand. Therefore, my wife, Karen, came in to help with administration, which quickly became a full-time position!” he explained. “But soon my wife may take more time off as our seventh grandchild is due any time.”

Information Enhances Lives
Early in his career, Dale had thought seriously about this industry but took a different path, one that didn’t provide the satisfaction he was looking for. “Working in finance and insurance is truly rewarding as you help people navigate issues that are critically important and very confusing at the same time. Our purpose statement is, ‘To enhance people’s lives by reducing stress and adding peace of mind,’” he continued. “We do this through educating people with important information that empowers their decision-making and we believe this will enhance their lives.”

This firm is a full-service and truly independent financial planning firm and an insurance agency as well. Dale feels that being independent gives them a significant advantage because this allows them to literally shop hundreds of financial institutions to find the best product or service which fits every client’s needs. “We in fact have two businesses. Our financial planning firm has four employees and our insurance agency has six insurance agents who help people navigate Medicare insurance products and services,” he reiterated.

What issues in the financial world currently can he help clients with? “Recently, a study determined the three most important concerns for seniors are one, not running out of money in retirement,” he commented. “Two is affordable health care, and three, not becoming a victim of fraud. We help clients with all three of these concerns. We are investment professionals and focus on financial wellness through a complete wealth management program. Our insurance agency has a professional staff with a combined 30-plus years of experience in the insurance industry representing Medicare Advantage, Part D Drug plans and Medicare Supplement plans. We implement extensive fraud and cyber protections including affiliate programs that offer clients discounts on services to keep protected information safe.”

Financial Direction
Some advisors might run simple calculations to forecast whether an investor’s money will last. “This is simply a mathematical equation. We go much deeper and look at what is truly important to each client; we ask the question, ‘How do you define true wealth?’” Dale stated. “It is usually much more than a number. We help clients build a road map to take them from where they are today to where they wish to be in the future.”

Upcoming, they will present a seminar at Trilogy in Rio Vista and their Medicare team of insurance agents holds monthly meetings in Lodi, Rio Vista and Manteca. During the annual election period, from October 15 through December 7, they be holding weekly meetings at five different locations throughout San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Solano counties.

Leadership Training
Dale has been an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor from the College of Financial Planning since 2013. He belongs to the Lodi Chamber of Commerce and is a current board member. His non-profit board certification is from University of the Pacific, and he participated in the Lodi Leadership Class of 2014. He belongs to Faith Community Church of the Nazarene and served on the board of directors for five years through February 2018. He earned his John Maxwell Leadership program diploma in 2017 and serves on numerous leadership and service positions.

“Because of my passion to have a positive impact on the lives of people that I work with, I changed careers, obtained my insurance license and a year later my securities license and began my new career. Being independent for me is critical because my goal is to truly help people and not focus on the bottom line, which large corporations tend to do,” he stressed. “As an independent we do not have any quotas, no proprietary products and no reason to do anything except that which is best for our clients.”
