Nicole Lira and Matt Gross

Date of Proposal: December 29, 2018

Swiping right was the key for Nicole Lira and Matt Gross. “Our first date was at Starbucks on a rainy day in February,” Nicole says. “We talked until the store closed, it was so easy to keep the coversation going. The rest is history.”

Matt planned well for his proposal on December 29, 2018, at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater in San Francisco. “It was one of the happiest moments of my life,” Nicole relates. “I appreciate all the hard work he put into planning the proposal and had a photographer there to capture the moment. He surprised me and even had my mother and sister there to share the excitement! Then he had a limo in which we explored San Francisco. The highlight was listening to our song, ‘Heaven’ by Kane Brown, as we went on the Golden Gate Bridge, with some champagne, of course.”

Nicole and Matt have shared significant life milestones together. “We have supported each other through my graduation from nursing school, becoming a nurse at my dream hospital, and starting a master’s program while planning a wedding together. I got to see Matt graduate from law school, and the long days studying for the bar exam paid off!” she shares. “Also, we love to have random dance parties by ourselves in our apartment.”

The couple has set May 2, 2020, as their wedding date. “Matt’s grandmother will be officiating our ceremony; we are excited to have someone who loves and support us be involved in our special day,” Nicole says. “Plus, any amazing wedding is not complete without fun desserts. We will also be having a s’mores bar and a mirror photo booth station.

“We are excited to share this huge milestone with our closest family and friends. We also want to make sure we have 15 minutes to just ourselves to take in the moment.”
