Brenda Weatherby and Josh Jolin

Date of Proposal: December 14, 2019

It was a whirlwind romance, but when you know you’ve met the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you know. Brenda Weatherby recognized that truth the night she met Josh Jolin during girls’ night at Bookies in Modesto. “I was with my best friend for my birthday. Josh and I saw each other from across the room. He came over and said hi, and we’ve been inseparable since!”

For his proposal, Josh pretended they were going to San Francisco, Brenda’s favorite place, for an event. “We ended up at Baker Beach and he told me there was no event but that he wanted to spend forever with me,” she smiles.

“Everything with us happened so quickly but, I never second guessed it,” she relates. “We met November 2017, moved in together four months later, got engaged December 2019, bought our house September 2020 and eloped three months later. I never understood this quote until I met Josh: “When you meet the love of your life, you want the rest of your life to start now.” I don’t know what the future holds, but what I do know is that I want Josh there with me.

“What I love about Josh is his sense of humor; no matter how I’m feeling, he can always make me laugh. He can always make the best out of any situation,” Brenda smiles. Josh responds, “My favorite thing about her is how kind-hearted she is. She helps keep me level-headed and makes me a better person.”

The couple’s original wedding date was May 29, 2021. “We decided to postpone due to COVID restrictions, so our new date is May 28, 2022,” Brenda shares. “Josh and I eloped on December 11, 2020, and postponed our big event so we can celebrate with all our friends and family later without COVID restrictions. We’re excited to finally be able to celebrate with friends and family and I’m excited to marry my best friend all over again!”
